About Me
Believe it or not, before I got into fitness I was never interested nor had any prior knowledge about exercise/nutrition. Never did any type of weight training or have taken fitness seriously.
At a certain point in my life, I was just a skinny lanky guy with not a single ounce of muscle. Going up a single flight of stairs would get my heartrate up as if I just got done sprinting around a track. I was insecure and not confident with myself and knew I could do better. I was tired of it. I wanted to stop feeling as if I wasn’t enough.
During my time in college, I met a good friend of mine that I am close with until this day. He introduced me to the gym and weight training. I learned many things about myself, my body, and strengths/weaknesses. A few months in, I started seeing progress and felt better than ever before. Energy levels were increased, confidence was slowly rising, and mental state was improving for the better. I fell in love with fitness and started to become passionate for it. From there, I knew I wanted to make this a career for myself.
Interestingly enough, at college I was going to school studying computer science. Not having any interest or paying attention during class and was more focus on getting a training session in with my friends. I decided to finish school but at the same time learn how to turn my passion into a career. I graduated with a bachelor’s in computer science but at the same time was getting certified as a personal trainer. Until this day, I have not even used my degree!
Fast forward to today, I am certified in three categories through ISSA. I am certified in personal training, transformation specialist, and sports nutritionist. I have experience from a small private scale studio in Hoboken, to commercial gyms such as Crunch Fitness, and higher scale companies such as Hi-Rise Fitness. In total, I have been working in the fitness industry for about 5 years now! I am truly happy where I am now instead of working in a office staring at a computer screen all day.
A quote that stuck with me in this journey is, “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing the tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.” Romans 5:3-4
I hope to push people not only in their fitness goals, but inspire them to chase their passion and never be afraid!
