How much protein should I eat?

A case study has shown that it depends on your activity levels and the intensity of your training.

To clarify, individuals who have minimal physical activity (around 3k-5k steps per day), should consume roughly around 0.8g of protein per pound of bodyweight.

An example would be an individual weighing 160lbs. The individuals daily protein intake would be 128g. (160 x 0.8 = 128)

For individuals who have higher physical activity and do some form of weight training would differ.

Here is a breakdown of what your protein consumption should look like depending on your activities:

Minimal Training – (3k-5k steps per day / 1-2 days of weight training) – 1.0g of protein per pound

Moderate (5k – 8k steps per day / 2-3 days of weight training) – 1.3g of protein per pound

Intense (10k + steps per day / 4-5 days of intense weight training) – 1.6g of protein per pound

Keep in mind, these numbers can also vary on the health conditions of an individual. The quality of the protein source also plays a critical role.

Conclusion: The most important thing to note when consuming protein is to remain consistent. In order to see results, all it takes is time and consistency. Keep training hard, eat your required protein intake, properly rest and I guarantee you will be amaze at how quick you can reach your goals.
