Myth or Fact: Does weight training make you bulky?

Does weight lifting make you look bulky?

This is a common question I hear from many new lifters out there.

It is a myth and not true by any means.

What is bulky anyway? Is it looking like a competitive bodybuilder, being too buff, or appearing twice as large as where you started?

The thing is, in order to look “bulky”, it would take years of consistent heavy weight training and being in a caloric surplus in order to be even remotely close to that level. And even then, it would still be difficult to look “bulky”.

Bottom line is, weight training does NOT make you bulky.

Matter of fact, it improves sleep, reduces risk of injury, improves overall mood and mental health and much more…
